No superhero takes up their capes and cowls overnight. Some train for hundreds of hours, traversing their long paths to peace and justice through diligence and a keen sense of what is right. With our Superhero Training Course, today’s children will have the opportunity to hone their skills alongside Captain Encouragement and step into their roles as the world’s next generation of heroes.
What is Call to Inspire and who is Captain Encouragement? Call to Inspire is a non-profit organization created around the concepts of non-violence, compassion and understanding. Captain Encouragement is the character carrying out this mission as the face of the organization. The character was created 3 years ago in Tuolumne County as a solution to the current issues of bullying and negativity, by its current Executive Director, Nicholas Domingo. The concept was simple; develop a superhero that would combat bullying, violence and other real-life issues through a relatable medium. This program quickly evolved into a youth program that would visit schools to teach kids in the K-3 spectrum how to be real life heroes, how to become leaders, put a stop to bullying and treat each other with compassion. The program has since developed an after school program that allows the children, who go through the assembly program, to take their new found “super powers” into the community and make a difference. We build off of these programs with a comic book that brings this character and mission to life in an easily translatable format for the kids in the community. Call to Inspire’s new vision is even bigger, to bring our assembly and after school program to schools around the country. This is to connect the various schools that take part in this program together to get an entire country of schools working towards one goal, making compassion, resiliency and leadership the trend. Will you join Call to Inspire in their mission to change the dynamics of how children interact?
